By way of a simple picture on Instagram and Twitter, Adi Shankar and Bootleg Universe have announced their next big project. Approximately 1pm PST on 11/16/18, a picture of Dante was shared. It’s true, Adi Shankar, executive producer of Netflix’s extremely popular Castlevania, will be working on a Devil May Cry series.

There was a lot of speculation that Adi was working with Nintendo because the information provided through Instagram stated, “I can confirm that I’m working with an iconic Japanese gaming company…” It’s natural to jump directly to Nintendo, but now we know this was actually about Capcom. And the second part of that statement, “…to adapt one of their iconic video game series into a series,” had everyone jumping at their favorite Nintendo series like Metal Gear Solid, Legend of Zelda, and Metroid to name a few. Instead, that iconic video game series is Devil May Cry.

Hate it or love, this is about to happen. If the excitement and passion for Castlevania carries over, this is bound to be an incredible new anime series that will please Devil May Cry fans and might even generate new ones.
